Of course they deserve it. This is how corporate america works. There is no correlation between company performance or stock performance and executive pay. The two are totally disconnected and always will be because shareholders are too lazy to get involved and change the status quo.
Wall Street is littered with bankrupt and failing co’s where the CEO’s run off with huge pay packages while laying off employees and crushing share prices. Why should they care when they make money whether they succeed or fail? It’s easier to fail than succeed so why not phone it in and take the huge payouts.
